The IISER Pune Summer Internship Programme 2025 is now open for applications. If you are a research-oriented student looking for an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in biology, chemistry, data science, earth science, mathematics, or physics, this programme is for you. The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune offers this internship to provide students with hands-on research experience and exposure to interdisciplinary scientific projects.

Eligibility

To apply for the IISER Pune Summer InternshipProgramme 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Must be a current student (at the time of application) in:
- 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of B.Sc/B.Tech/B.E or equivalent.
- 1st year of M.Sc/M.Tech or equivalent.
Must have secured:
- At least 60% overall OR
- At least 80% in the subject of interest.

How to Choose a Project

Only faculty members listed on the IISER Pune website will offer summer projects.
Do not contact faculty members not listed for projects.
Ensure your knowledge and skills match the project requirements before applying.
If you need clarification, send a single email to the concerned faculty. Avoid sending repeated emails.

Duration of the Internship

The summer internship will last 4 to 7 weeks between May 15th – July 15th, 2025.

Benefits of the Internship

Free hostel accommodation will be provided at IISER Pune.
No stipend will be provided for travel or mess charges (approximately ₹6,000 per month).
Students’ performance will be evaluated at the end of the project, and feedback will be sent to their home institution.

Important Application Guidelines

The application process is completely online.
Only students from institutions other than IISER Pune are eligible.
This registration is not for summer fellows selected via IASc or JNCASR.
