About IBM Systems and ISDL
IBM Systems builds servers, storage solutions, and system software, offering enterprises world-class reliability, scalability, and security. The India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is a core part of IBM Systems and has been at the helm of global systems innovation since 1996. With teams located in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad, ISDL plays a pivotal role in the development of processors, firmware, operating systems, and cloud software.
Enterprise Systems Development Lab within ISDL focuses on the design and development of processors for IBM Mainframe & Power systems. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technologies such as 5nm, 3nm, and beyond.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Hardware/Software Summer Intern, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and verifying processor cores, logic designs, and analog circuits.
- Engaging in pre- and post-silicon validation processes.
- Developing custom layouts, memory technologies, and EDA tools.
- Characterizing libraries and contributing to ASIC and SOC design.
- Applying advanced programming skills in Python or Perl for processor verification and validation.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Education:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in VLSI Design, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in digital logic design, computer architecture, and processor pipelines (e.g., RISC V).
- Strong understanding of VLSI design flows, analog circuits, and memory technologies.
- Programming and scripting skills in Python or Perl.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with advanced processor design methodologies.
- Experience with EDA tools and techniques for system optimization.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud systems and cognitive business solutions.
