Your Role as a Data Science Intern
The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team focuses on solving complex business problems using advanced analytics, data modeling, and strategic decision-making. As a Data Science Intern, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that directly impact enterprise strategy, business processes, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Modeling:
- Analyze complex datasets and uncover patterns.
- Execute solutions to business problems through data mining and statistical modeling.
- Dashboard and Report Development:
- Design and develop visually engaging dashboards for United Airlines’ leadership and stakeholders using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire.
- Strategic Insights:
- Translate raw data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Deliver professional presentations to project managers and team leads.
- Collaboration:
- Work across multiple departments such as Airport Operations, Revenue Management, and Digital Products to align analytics with business goals.
Required Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in SQL (Teradata or Microsoft TSQL).
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire for reporting.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to manipulate complex datasets and derive meaningful patterns.
- Legal Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in India without sponsorship.
